Cho - Latse Peak 6440m

Cho - Latse Peak 6440m

Mt.Cholatse peak in group “A” category climbing peak. Cho-latse mean Tibetan ’cho’ is lake, ’la’ is pass,  and ’tse’ is peak so Cholatse means literally "lake pass peak". Unlike many mountains, there is no easy way to reach or descend from its summit, so any climb of the mountain is a serious mountaineering undertaking Main attraction of Cholatse peak is panoramic views of Himalayan peaks like Everest (8850), Nuptse (7879m), Lhotse (9501m), Lhotse Shar (8383m), Makalu (8475m), Baruntse (7720m), and Ama Dablam (6856m) Thamserku, Cho-oyu etc. Cholatse peak is situated at Mahalangur Himalayan range in Everest region at Solukhumbu Nepal.

Cholatse was first climbed via the southwest ridge on April 22, 1982 by Vern Clevenger, Galen Rowell, John Rowell and Bill O’Connor. The north face was successfully scaled in 1984.

Comparatively Cholatse Peak is very hard to climb than other peak in Nepal. Mt Cholatse is the technically difficult peak and requires careful ascent. We Himalayan Ecstasy Nepal always recommended you that Climbers need mountaineering, Ice and rock climbing courses/skill in order to climb Cholatse peak. Only few climbers get success in cholatse peak climbing. Cholatse peak is connected to Taboche (6,501m) by a long ridge. The trekkers can be seen Spectaculars view of Mt.cholatse through the cho-la pass on the way to EBC.
