Trekking in Nepal

Trekking in Nepal is an intense cultural experience as well as an exploration of one of the world’s most hiker-friendly and spectacular environments. Nepal has a staggering number of potential routes for trekkers. These are just not a pathway designed for recreational use, but a working transportation network for goods and people. While trekking you will see the great diversity of Nepal. Villages embrace many ethnic groups and cultures. The beauty and attraction of the Nepal Himalaya emanates not only from the mountains themselves, but also from their surroundings.
There are two contrasting approaches to trekking in Nepal. The independently minded optional for tea house trekking, moving from village to village along mostly well trodden routes, enjoying the lodges with their mix of foreigners and locals and nights of story telling around the fire. The other approach is go on an organized trip where porters and guides are hired to bring along tents, cooking equipment and food. These are ideal for discovering more remote areas and learning about the varied cultures and people of Nepal first hand. The choice of areas and routes is bewildering.
Tea House trekking
Annapurna, Langtang and Everest are the three main areas in Nepal where it is possible to walk well defined trails and stay at local teahouses. All you have to bring is a sleeping bag, warm clothes for the evening when the sun goes down, a camera and a water bottle. Teahouses provide excellent food including pasta, curries, muesli and even apple pie and custard.
A normal trekking day involves approximately 5-6 hours steady trekking with rest periods and time to enjoy the surroundings,
Taking part calls for a reasonable level fitness and a good attitude. Treks marked "Hard" involve some resolve and stamina, however if you are of average fitness and enjoy the outdoors you should manage well.
A local guide / porter accompanies all departures. Your guide will contribute valuable local knowledge to enhance your Himalayan experience, and a porter allows you the pleasure to trek with only a day pack on your shoulders.
The cost per trek includes all meals and accommodation, guide / porter, and local transportation (By land only). It does not include personal expenses, alcohol, candy, soft drinks or internal flights.
We will be more than happy to organize all your internal travel arrangements in the Kingdom of Nepal. We have a wide variety of services and budget options to suit your needs, including airport pick-ups, sightseeing excursions, airline reconfirmation, hotel reservations and much more. Contact our friendly and experienced staff for a personal itinerary, departure dates and costs. Tea-house departure dates are on demand.
