Ganesh is Shiva’s son, the elephant-headed god who is the remover of obstructions. The Ganesh Himal is one of the major groups of Himalayan peaks located between the Langland and Annapurna ranges. It is named by “Ganesh Himal” after the elephant headed God of Good Fortune because the south faces of Pabil (Ganesh IV). Slightly resembles an elephant with a ridge that looks like an elephant’s trunk. The Ganesh range peaks (Ganesh I, II, III and IV) stand out like crystal that is the Great Himalayan chain, forming in the skyline. Ganesh Himal can be easily seen from Kathmandu.
